Rita SAKR

She earned her primary medical doctorate degree from St Joseph University in
Lebanon and completed her residency program in Obstetrics-Gynecology and Breast
oncoplastic surgery at Aix-Marseille University in France. She then completed her
PhD doctorate degree in molecular biology of breast cancer and her breast fellowship
at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (New York), and École doctorale de
Cancérologie of Institut Gustave Roussy (Paris). After various positions including
Institut Curie / Paris, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre / New York and
Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris. She later moved to Dubai where she works
as a Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon & Obstetrics-Gynecologist at Kings
College Hospital.…Dr Rita Sakr has got more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed
journals and international conferences, and has received many international
recognitions such as American Association Cancer Research Award and San
Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium Award. In addition to her wide surgical, clinical
and academic experience, Dr Rita Sakr has a passion for patients’ advocacy and has
been actively involved in several for breast cancer survivorship associations in
Europe, USA, and UAE. We are honoured to have Rita as Co-President for the BCU
2025 edition.
